Nadeem & Family Visit Abu Dhabi

Due to Commonwealth game held in Delhi, Nademm's daughters got 3 weeks school holidays. We decided to make full use of these.
Since last year we were trying to arrange their visit to us in UAE but due the non-synchronisation of kids school timing it tokk a long time.
Finally they were here from 3rd October'10 to 23rd October'10. Read full description of tour in Events section and photos as usual in Photos Page.

A quick visit to Delhi

Kid’s summer vacation has started. So they decided to go to Delhi for a month. I could not get leaves as my manager is also on leave this month. So I accompanied them to Delhi and come back in four days time.
Don’t be surprise that why on the earth I went for 4 days. Well, there was a temptation. Basically there were two reasons. Firstly, Ammi was not very well last few weeks (she is OK now Alhamdulillah). So a visit to see her was on the card already.
Secondly, Ghazala & her husband and her in-laws were in Delhi these days. So I took full advantage to see them all. I came back on 12th July, Kids and Sana will be back on 5th August.

Umrah Tour with family

We finally got invited to His house for one of the most important journeys of our life. Our planning for Umrah began almost two year back, when Sana and I seriously considered to make this journey with our family.
But until you get invitation from the Almighty you can plan a lot. Reached to Medina first, stayed there for four days and then headed to Makkah. Spent four days their also.

Two weeks’ vacation to Delhi

Saad and Zayd have their winter vacation in December. So I decided to take two weeks break from work. And we left for Delhi. Winters in Delhi are always very inviting and sweet. Another more inviting reason rather was the fact that Qaseem & his family were also visiting India. It's been a long time since we last met.
We utilised this opportunity fully. Also visited Agra to see Taj Mahal. Read full details in Events Section. Also have a look at Photos also.
Two weeks passed away very quickly. Sana also went to Bijnor for three days. I went for one day to bring them back and to meet all in Bijnor.

Ammi Abbu visit to Abu Dhabi

Ammi was from quite a time asking to spend a Ramadan in Gulf with us. Obviously we were also thinking on the same line. It was a long time since we celebrated Ramadan and Eid with parents. So I took this time and arrange for their visit visas to Abu Dhabi.
It was of course really good. They liked Abu Dhabi as well. Kids were also happy with grandma and grandpa. Also visit Dubai, Al Ain, and Ras Al Khaimah. Iqbal and Kashif also arranged a BBQ in Al Ain on Eid. You can read more about that in Events page.

Recalled to Abu Dhabi – UAE back

All of a sudden we got a big project in Abu Dhabi and I was called back. Since I was working on that project from tender stage and I have the experience for the type of work they preferred me to be on that project. Initially I resisted a bit but then the decision was taken from Head Office and I have to follow.
Again I left for Abu Dhabi leaving family behind in Qatar. Everything to be done again, schools, visas, accommodation etc etc. Project is for 21 months, but don’t know how long I will stay here.

Tour to Belgium

Finally I got a chance to tour to a European country. I have to do a training course at the head office in Belgium. It was one week tour.
I got Schengen visa (Common visa for all Europe union countries). First went to Munich Germany then to Belgium. It looked fantastic from the plane. Very green and organized. It was a good chance to meet some of the top managers in the company.
Also went to see Antwerp city with a guide. Weather was superb, a little cold but really pleasant. Sunset was at 10:30 in the evening as they call it. Otherwise for us 10:30 is night already.

Family reached Qatar

It took one month to get my visa. Since it could take some more time to get their residence visa I arranged visit visa for them. Visa was valid for one month. Hopefully their visa will also be stamped by then.
Kids prepared for another admission test and got the admission in the same school. Although it was not that easy as we thought in the beginning. There were no seats in the classes. We had to convince them that they are ex-students etc.

Back to Qatar

Here I am back in Qatar on Qatar Bahrain Causeway Project. Sana & Kids are in India since I should get my visa first. This project is again for four years and again I came here on the hope that we could spent a little longer here. Let’s see what’s in the air!
I have to go to school meanwhile. Arrange for admissions. This is really tiring. Hope to secure a seat in the same school where the kids were last year.

Here Comes Recession

Things sometimes are very cruel it seems. When I shifted to Ras Al Khaimah last August I thought I could settle down now for at least four years.
But things go your way rarely and what happened was really bad at least for the world. My project was also abandoned. Lot of colleagues got termination letters but luckily I got chance on another project in Qatar. So we are again on the flight to Doha most probably in March 2010.

2 weeks vacation

Due to the bad winter season work was slowing down. So I took a two week vacation to India. Mainly two reasons, first the school winter vacation of two weeks.
But primary reason was my treatment. I got skin allergy from last 4 years. Although I was taking medicines but it has suddenly gone worse. So I decided it is the time for full skin checkup.
Returned back on 3rd January 2009 with some new medicines. Yes allergy is quite controlled now.
Weather was freezing. 4 degree. Also visited Bijnore for the marriage of Sadiq (Lallu) son of Akhtar Maamu.

Another shifting - Qatar to U.A.E.

Although Doha job was going fine but the project was ending soon. I was in a joint venture and not under direct company. Which meant once the project concludes I have to search for another job (in case if the joint venture companies do not offer me a job). Incidently i got an offer from one of the partner companies and joined them in UAE.
I was actually given a choice of going to Panama (Central America) or Ras Al Khaimah (UAE). I chose later as i was quite familiar with gulf rather than going for another hectic visa process (doodh ka jala chhaj ko bhi phoonk kar peeta hai :-))
Went to Delhi for two days in transition and reached UAE on 16th August 2008.

Family reached Doha Qatar

I joined in Doha in February 2007 leaving family in Muscat. After coming here I started processing my visa etc. Unfortunately it turned out not that easy as it seemed initially. I took almost two months until I got my visa stamped. Family visa was not even arranged till April. They started panicking as soon as there annual exams were over by 20th March.
It was a horrific period. But I do appreciate Sana as it was a real courage to live in gulf with only kids with her. Looking after kids school, collect their results and certificate from school, grocery shopping from mall and living alone! It really require some guts.
I got my visa on 8th April. Since company was not able to arrange their visa by then I had to arrange their tourist visa through hotel. Applied for their visa on 8th April and left for Muscat even before getting their visas issued as it would take 2 days. Finally got their visas in Muscat & returned back with them to Doha on 12th April 2007.
Got a Villa in compound to stay. Very nice house. We spent a real good time in Doha. School was very good.

From Muscat to Doha Qatar

My project in Muscat was abruptly halted. There were some dispute between our company& the client. And we had to leave Muscat immediately. That was the time I really panicked. Kids academic year supposed to be finished in March. It was not possible to shift in December as that would ruin full year. Also even after two years I didn't get any increment. I myself was seeking a new job. It was just a coincident that I got a wonderful offer from Doha Qatar. I immediately grabbed that and moved on to Doha.
Only problem was family shifting. Mainly visa could not be arranged untill I get stamped my resident visa in Doha that would take around one month. But that came as relief actually as I wanted them to stay till march. So I took permission from my company not to cancel our visas till march.

Saad's First Fast (Roza)

It was a proud moment for us as parents. I have given detailed description in Events page. Do read it in Saad Roza section.

Ammi Visits Muscat

As usual Ammi visits Muscat also. But she liked Dubai more than Muscat. The reason being Muscat a quite & peaceful city as compared to Sharjah & Dubai where traffic & people are norms. Anyway she enjoyed here also except for the last few days. This was the week Aftab (son of Akhtar Maamu) died in Saudi Arabia due to heart attack. Ammi wanted to be with her brother during this sorrow time. So she returned back although half heartedly. Me and Mumtaz visit to Saudia for the cremation of Aftab. And while coming back performed Umrah.

Transfer To Muscat - Oman

Completed my Dubai Autodrome project in April 2005. My project Manager was quite inclined to take me with him so I obliged. Started going to Muscat from April while Sana & kids still staying in Sharjah. They were eventually shifted in July. Muscat is a beautiful place to live. Mountains, beaches. Got a good house at beach. Muscat is also the cleanest and greenest city in gulf. If you plan to visit gulf I would strongly recommend Muscat as one of your destination.

Ammi Abbu & Ghazala Visit Dubai

Ammi & Abbu came here on visit in March. They enjoyed their visit. But Abbu got bore after one month as there was no one to accompany him. I use to come around 8:30 night. So he decided to go back but Ammi remained here for 3 months. During the period also arranged visa for Ghazala. She was really happy and excited after visiting Dubai. Before their departure big shopping of course.

Sana & Kids Reached Dubai

After coming here I thought it is the time to bring family abroad, as it was actually getting a bit frustrating. Especially if you are in Dubai you need your family with you. Lifestyle, standard of living etc, it is overwhelming. So I arranged for family visas and here they are, reached here on 8th April 2004.

Back To Dubai - U.A.E.

After working in Delhi Metro Rail Project in Delhi for almost 3 years got a job opportunity in Dubai again. Although I was looking for an overseas job but not desperately. It came as a surprise. Offer was good and my present contract was expiring so I took it and reached Dubai on 3rd September 2003.
